I may be the only Jing Sproule in the world, a name that all by itself tells my life story.
The first part of the name, Jing, is made-in-china. It means "an educated and intelligant female" in Chinese, one that, with a bit of cheek, represents me well. A Chinese, tiny, black-haired and eyed smart lady.
Sproule, however, is a family name originated from western Lowland Scotland in the 13th century, one that became mine as my partner wooed me over with his celtic charm.
So far I have not found another Jing Sproule - if you have, please let me know, my long lost name kin!
The photo below was taken on St. Patrick's Day in 2024 where I wore all the green things I had, including a pair of feather earring that inspired the series of my jewllery making later.
Jing + Sproule = Art, Pikmin & Udemy
The unique life story brings an equally one-of-a-kind aethetics and art work. Combining the delicate and gentle style of art with natural materials from Ulster, I bring to the world a set of unrepeatable monoprinting artwork with floral and leaves right around my doorstep as well as earring/clip. Under my partner's influence, I came across a Nintendo Switch game called Pikmin and it worked magic in my life. I then channelled my creative sparks into making Pikmin spin-offs, which resulted in PikminGarden.com and PikminGarden.Etsy.com
I also summarised my experience of being cross-cultural for 13+ years into a short Udemy course on cross-cultural adjustment, a more personal piece about me.
